The department has functional rooms such as transfusion compatibility testing laboratory, blood storage room, and treatment room in the first and second phases of the hospital, equipped with fully automatic blood type analyzer, thromboelastography instrument, blood cell component separator, dedicated blood storage refrigerator, and other instruments and equipment. At present, the department routinely carries out experimental projects such as ABO/Rh blood type identification, irregular antibody testing, blood type antibody potency testing, difficult cross matching tests, thromboelastography testing, as well as therapeutic blood cell collection (platelet rich plasma collection), plasma exchange testing, and other treatment projects.
